STORY

I’ve always loved stories and how images and words can be used for storytelling.

Even as a young kid, the visuals, script, editing, and music of television fascinated me. And it still does to this day.

Perhaps this is why I first intended to work in the film industry, but then after university I entered marketing and advertising. Now I’m telling brand stories using the same elements of storytelling that I've always loved.

Marketing has changed a lot since then. Consumers are so savvy they can see right through B.S. so you have to be human-focused, create a better product or service, and tell more emotional and engaging stories. I can help you do that. I've also got a passion for everything digital, social, and tech, which makes today's marketing more fun than ever.

More about me: I love coffee, I'm a huge fan of IPA beers, my favorite number is 22, I mountain bike, I love reading books and graphic novels, playing board games and watching movies (and sometimes I like to write about all that here). Mostly, I like things I don't need three cups of coffee to get motivated for!

Digital & Influencer Marketing Consultant / Feb - Mar 2017

This was a two-month project where I helped develop creative marketing strategies tailored for brands such as P&G and Conair Mexico to engage and activate audiences through influencers, such as bloggers, vloggers and social media influencers (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).

The projects were based on influencer and social media analytics obtained using platforms such as Klear and Keyhole, and on each brand's unique DNA and goals.

I make digital marketing easy. I’m a marketing specialist with extensive digital marketing experience.

My goal is to provide businesses and startups with inbound marketing and a digital presence so that customers can easily find and engage with them. This can include everything from building a website that conveys their unique brand or product, copywriting, social media profiles with content and community management, analytics, or online pay-per-click (PPC) advertising that appeals directly to their target market.

This post-graduate certificate was all about digital marketing to achieve a measurable ROI. It provided me with the knowledge and skills I needed to do what I do today, such as managing social media on behalf of an organization or brand, creating effective content, managing communities, SEO, SEM, PPC, etc. (I could go on with the acronyms, but I think you get the drift.)

Where I mastered problem-solving, client service, and negotiation skills.

Acted as Project and Account Manager for integrated marketing campaigns for a broad range of industries and clients, including P&G, Scotiabank, HSBC, NYX Cosmetics, Unilever, Walmart, Nissan, Peugeot, and KFC.

Worked closely with agencies and brand managers to coordinate timelines and develop omnichannel campaign strategies. Coordinated small- and large-scale projects and acted as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, making sure expectations were surpassed and timelines met.

An ISP company where I learned the essentials of corporate sales and customer care. Mostly building long-term customer relationships and developing customized service proposals for them. The main business was providing businesses with dedicated internet access and with VoIP phone systems.

Here’s where I learned how the internet works, about LAN/Wireless Modems, Servers, Routers, TCP/IP, DNS, and so on.

My first job right after university. This was a great job where I learned how to care and relate to customers.

This was a retail / customer service position where I performed common duties such as: welcoming customers and offering assistance, providing information on services, processing payments and contributing to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences / 1998 - 2002

This is a four-year university program composed of Critical Studies in Mass Media, Media Studies, Technical Media Production, Organizational and Public Communication, and the principles and theories of mass communication systems in the world.

We studied everything from the development of journalistic content, account management for an agency setting, creative development, principles of photography (including developing both black and white and color film), project management, radio and television production, and broadcasting. This Bachelor's Degree prepared me for my career in media, advertising, and marketing.
